ARTCHAT | The Transformation - artistic beginnings. A retrospective



Let’s make a few steps into the past. We already talked about Marian Gołogórski’s artistic beginnings, and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Doing that, we should also say a few words about his diploma work.

ARTCHAT | Lamb Award by Marian Gologorski on Summer Jazz Festival

Traditionally, as every year, one of the most important cultural event in Krakow is Summer Jazz Festival. During this festival, the most outstanding jazz musicians are honored with a  very prestigious prize, the Lamb Award. Marian Gołogórski is an author of the bronze statue that was inspired by prof. Jerzy Skarżyński’s drawings of lambs. What’s more, from the very beginning of the festival, the lamb’s drawing has been used as a logo. Since 2001, every single year the prize has been given to the selected astonishing artists like:

Jerzy “Dudus” Matuszkiewicz, Andrzej Kurylewicz and Wanda Warska, Wojciech Karolak, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Janusz Muniak, Przemyslaw Dyakowski, Tomasz Stańko, Andrzej Trzaskowski, Roman “Gucio” Dyląg”, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Jan Boba.

ARTCHAT | Life is a pink roller-coaster exhibition

It's time for a small retrospective! We'd like to show you a couple of pictures we took during Life is a pink roller-coaster international art exhibition that took place in the gallery between June 5th and June 30th, 2010.

The exhibition was a unique opportunity to see how many different artistic approaches there can be. The artists coming from different cultural backgrounds have presented marvellous pieces of art: from painting, photography and typography to sculpture and ceramics.

This is the last part of work on the sculpture. If you want to see the whole process, check the previous posts on the gallery's blog. This is the part of the documentation where you can see the plaster positive of the cast. The final stage of work would be making bronze cast.

The new series of Marian Gologorski's sulptures and jewellery sculptured elements . On those pictures we can see the originals made in wask, just before the bronze cast. That series is few beautiful sculptuers in small format. You can find them in the gallery in Cracow soon!
